The Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) is one of the first universities in the world to incorporate the art and science of design and technology into a truly holistic interdisciplinary education and research experience that culminates in real-world design innovations.

As part of its ongoing fleet renewal programme, Singapore Airlines (SIA) progressively retires some of its older aircraft. This now gives you an opportunity to breathe new life into a piece of aviation history.

SUTD and SIA are jointly organising this challenge to promote awareness about design and upcycling. We are inviting aspiring designers and engineers to breathe new life into these aircraft parts by upcycling them and designing innovative products with them to help build a better world.

Premium leather seat covers, the metal skin of the aircraft fuselage, and other components that once flew around the world – where will your imagination take these parts to next?

Congratulations to the winning teams!
