Thu May 3, 2018| Think Tank 15, 1.510 | 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM

Taught by

Narasimha Boddeti, Postdoctoral Research Fellow, DManD Centre, SUTD.

David Mateo, Postdoctoral Research Fellow, EPD, SUTD.

Brought to you by SUTD Postdoc Society & DManD Centre

Research is becoming increasingly dependent on computer-based skills and tools, and researchers are expected to harness these tools in their work. This series will create a platform for the SUTD research community to share and learn these skills, and we invite all researchers (including faculty, postdocs, PhD students, RA’s and undergraduates) to get involved.

To get the most out of this workshop, please bring along your laptop. Instructions to install Linux (even on Windows!) will be sent out before the event. Here’s what you can expect:

  1. Brief overview of Linux and its ecosystem.
  2. Bash – Introduction to a Command Line Environment
  3. Bash – programming and scripts
  4. Useful commands

Lunch will be provided. 🙂 Shh…you can let me know if you have any special dietary.

NOTE: By registering for this workshop, your consent (parental/legal guardian is deemed to have consented if you are below 18 years old) shall be granted to DManD Centre for the collection of your personal data.
